Rain, Rain, GO AWAY!

So, over here in the lone star state... we are in full swing for hurricane season... I am so thankful because.... this allows me to attend my scrapbooking retreat near Dallas! I usually get to attend one a year... but some how I have been blessed to attend a second one! It's a great way to catch up on some girl talk, maybe get your hair done, and of course get some great crafting done! I can't tell you how excited I am!

June 15th Stuck?! Sketch

I believe I stumbled upon this blog the other day while I was searching for sketches on the web! They have great sketches and have three different prizes for their sketches! How awesome is that?!!! So, here's the sketch!

My little baby, Tiger lily loves to watch me do the laundry and one day she wanted to "help". Our other cat, Cleo sleeps in the dryer quite often! So, once I had the paper decided for the sketch and the paper all in place... I knew what pictures I wanted to put on this page! And once again, I am using Bo Bunny's Pedal Pushers line!

Sketchy Thursday sketch

I recently found Sketchy Thursday from one of the other ladies on the Papercraft Star Design Team... Can't remember who... but thank you! This site has some great sketches! I recently purchased the Cosmo Cricket "Delovely Collection"... I love the bright colors... So, here's the sketch!

Here's my interpretation! I had a co-worker's wedding last Friday and it turned out beautiful! Here are a few of the other teachers from my school that I work at! We had a lot of fun that night!

We made it! Yesterday, the first EVER challenge went live at Papercraft Star! So far, we have two great projects entered! But more would definitely be awesome and you get a prize from Papertray Ink! How cool is that?! I wanted to show you what I did for this photo inspired challenge. If you know me, you know that I LOVE to use the same paper from the same brand/collection! But for this challenge... something spoke to me and I definitely stepped out of my scrapping box and used patterened paper from THREE, yes three different companies! Taylor Swift Layout

Not sure what type of music yall listen to, but for me... I listen to mostly all types of music... I have 3 sisters... and we all love Taylor Swift... Back in May, I went to the concert here in Houston! It was a really great concert and I thoroughly enjoyed it, even I was older than the average age of someone attending the concert! :D For this layout, I used the new Bo Bunny Petal Pushers line, it's so cute and cute with all the doodling! Just love the bright colors! Before that, I had purchased some sequenced ribbon not knowing when I would get a chance to use it, but I got to use it and I am stoked! I also used the alphabalicious (sp?) cartridge, another of my favorites! So, here is it. In the picture, it's me on the left and my youngest sister, Diana on the right!

So Sophie! My Mind's Eye Newest Paper Collection! (plus cute Thank You card)

Besides purchasing one of the newest My Mind's Eye-So Sophie collections for Challenge #3 at Papercraft Star... I also received my newest Scrapbooks, Etc magazine in the mail yesterday! As my husband and I were walking to our mailbox... I told him that my day would be made if I got S.E. or a new Self magazine and what do you know... Scrapbooks, Etc was there!!! As I was flipping through my new magazine, I found a great sketch that I just had to complete then and there! :D I tried to look on their website for the sketch but I can't find it... Just a little bit about my style, I try to fill in most of the page with pictures/embellishments, but this page left a lot of "white space" as other scrappers call it, so I thought this would be the perfect chance to try my skills at leaving "white space"... I had the perfect pictures in mind when I saw this sketch. Here is how it turned out! I think these colors are great for summer! Hope you enjoy!

I still have several scraps left over from this project and Challenge #3... So, I wanted to create a "Thinking of You" card... using a sketch from Card Patterns Blog... check out there website for some excellent sketches and prize opportunities, too...

And for the last thing on this post... I really cute Thank You card! The patterned paper is K&C Company, the yellow card stock is Core'dinations and the Pink is Bazzill. I used my Sizzix Texture Boutique to emboss, but the folder I used is Cuttlebug... The yellow ribbon came from the "bargain area" at Archivers... I honestly don't remember the brand of the "Thank you" stamp that I used... Oh and last but not least, I cut out a flower from the PP and inked it as well as pop dotted the back to give it dimension, and a yellow Kaisercraft pearl accent!

Scrapbooking Side Note! (Archivers!!!)

Ok, I don't know how many of you are as lucky as I am to have an Archivers close by... Well, mine is about 12 minutes away, depending on how many red lights you encounter! Today, I stopped in for the first time in about a two weeks! Actually that's the longest I have gone in a while without stopping by! So... I saw the new My Mind's Eye So sophie paper line... There are three of them! I love them and they have some great paper embelishments to pick up! I can't wait to use them... I also picked up my supplies for the first ever challenge for Papercraft Star and I can't wait to start working on it... Head over and check out the photo that we are using for inspiration! It's going to be great! Can't wait to show everyone!

Wedding Weekend in Dallas

This weekend I did not get a chance to do any sort of crafting because we traveled to Dallas on Friday to attend a friend's wedding. My husband was a groomsman and looked mighty handsome if I do say so myself! :D I must say that out of all the weddings I have attended... this one by far out does them all!

The rehearsal dinner was fabulous. I felt like we were at the wedding reception. I don't know about the rest of you, but I watch the wedding shows on WE and TLC, etc... this dinner rehearsal dinner was similar to one of those... Beautiful, tall flower arrangements of roses and hydrangeas... Fillet Mignon, creme brule (sp?). Just amazing!

While Shawn had lunch with the guys on Saturday before the wedding, I went and ate lunch with my sister and brother in law... Went back to the hotel to hang out and then got ready! We walked across the street from the Hotel (the Warwick Melrose, search it on google! Beautiful hotel!) and the ceremony went great! No mess ups!

The reception was gorgeous too! For dinner, we had gourmet chicken strips, southwest egg rolls, crab cakes, and a mashed potato bar, and macaroni and cheese! What a menu! :D They had a live band which was great! Her cake was beautiful and the groom's cake was a cigar box with chocolate cigars on the outside of the cake and real cigars laying on the table for guests to pick up. So, now to the pictures! Just take a look and see what we experienced! It was a fabulous weekend!

Creative Scrappers Layout #107

This week at Creative Scrappers, the weekly layout is amazing! I love it! I am trying desperately to finish our wedding album. I probably have about 10 more pages to do. But until then, here is a recent wedding page! I used one of the pictures of me and my bridesmaids. I used the My Minds Eye, Ohh La La for him paper line including the die cut sheet. And one thing I can't forget! I used the Storybook Cricut Cartridge! Probably my favorite font cartridge!

Just a little side note about our wedding... We were married on January 3rd, 2009 and when you look at the picture and you see the girls are wearing knee length dresses, you are probably thinking I am crazy! But I just loved those dresses and I have to have them! The funny thing is that a warm front came into the Houston area the night before and the high on January 3, 2009 was 90*! No joke! So, it all turned out great that they wore the knee length dresses, and they were quite comfortable!

Here is the sketch...

Here is my layout...

Just a few close ups.

Here is that actual photo from the wedding.

Pink Paislee Artisan Album using Bayberry Cottage Collection

A few weeks ago, I order the kit that Pink Paislee was selling that went along with a "House of 3" and Pink Paislee live web event/class featuring Heidi Swapp. This weekend while my husband was attending a track and field coaching clinic, I used the Artisan Album, 6x6 paper pack, and punch out die cuts it came with to complete the Aritisan Album. I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed watching the video and learning several new techniques and ideas. I also really enjoyed putting together this fun album. Here are a few pictures of the album.
Ohhh... and check out the website for the online event even if you didn't purchase the kit! There are also some other great webisodes to check out! I promise you won't be disappointed!

http://www.ustream.tv/channel/heidi-swapp-live

The cover is sprayed with "cranberry zing" glimmer mist from Tattered Angels and I plan to make or put a cute flower and some pearls on the cover.

Here is the first page and I would have to say that it would be one of my favorites!

Here a the rest of the pages

My Newest Card Creation

I am absolutely in LOVE with Bo Bunny's new Pedal Pushers line! Love, Love, Love it! I recently purchased "Go to Sketches" magazine. I found my sketch for this card in the magazine. I have yet to create a card that has a tag or separate card that you can pull out! I thought this would be a great chance. Although as I began to create a my card, my idea had completely changed! As you will see it turned out to look like a birthday cake! I am so proud of myself!

More Crafts and Scrapbooking Pages

Here are a few more...

Earlier in May my husband and myself attended our very first 1st birthday party of one of our friends with a little one. It was actually a lot more than I had anticipated. Although, there were little kids and babies EVERYWHERE! If that doesn't give you "baby fever" I don't know what will! :D (P.S. That is not a hint, we are not having kids yet!)

I had completely forgot that I had used a layout from Sketchabilities Blog. Although I added a picture, this is where the original idea/sketch had come from.
Thanks Sketchabilities!

School's Out For Summer!

I just can't help myself. Summer is here and I am so excited! I just finished my third year of teaching and I feel this year has been my most successful one so far. Three years isn't long, but if I had to rate them. This was probably the best one so far.

My husband is attending a track and field coaching clinic this weekend, which means I am available to sracpbook and craft all weekend long! Super excited! Here are a few projects I have been working on.

I finally added pictures to the Bo Bunny Chipboard album I made! I think I picked some great photos that represent our two little kitties.

Happy belated Memorial Day Weekend

Hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend!

Here are a few of my latest creations!

This one is from a paper pack that I thought I would use.

The next one is utra feminine! I absolutely love this one. I am still searching for the perfect picture to add to this layout! :D

This Bo Bunny Chipboard album was so much fun! We have two little kitties (Cleo and Tiger Lily) and I just couldn't resist using the Basic Grey: "Max and Whiskers" line!

Next is a card that I made over the weekend. I love the Penny Lane line! Super cute and you can't forget to add BLING!
