Card Patterns Sketch #104

Hey there! Happy Monday! Well, sort of... my day started off well and right before I was going to run, I checked my school email... And we got an email saying there would be cancelling the annual teacher job fair and postponing the transfer job fair... I was hoping to transfer schools within my district to stop coaching... it's long story but, in order to quit coaching I have to transfer schools... I know that most states are working on budgets due to the recession and Texas is no different... Our state legislature is cutting school budgets severely, closing schools, cutting certain programs... Please pray for wise decisions made by the people we elect to represent us.

Update to post above: I was driving to work today and the thought crossed my mind... I wanted people in blogging land to know that I absolutely thankful for my job, and I will continue to be thankful for my job if I am still coaching next year. My main reason for not wanting to coach is two fold: #1. I want to have kids soon and I want to fully devote as much time as I possibly can and #2. my heart isn't in it anymore... It's not fair to the athletes to be grouchy and not give them the attention they deserve... Thanks for any prayers for new teachers graduating college and looking for jobs. I never thought I would have to worry for fellow colleagues looking for jobs in the teaching industry!

Anywho, enough of that! I was able to fit in a new card yesterday! Went to church, cleaned, did grocery shopping! I am super wife! Not really, but sometimes I feel like it!

I was able to play along with the new sketch at Card Patterns! I must say that I love the squares!

Here is the sketch!
Here is my card!

I am borrowing my mom's Nikon D5000! I love it! I am wishing, hoping, thinking, and praying that I can get something like this version for my birthday!

I just wanted to share some pictures I was able to catch of my lil' kitties...

Papercraft Star Challenge #34

Good Evening! I hope you are having a crafty weekend! I am just getting started! Today, I was able to spend some quality time with my mom! We went shopping and ate at the Cheesecake Factory! Can you say yum!!!!? It was great! We are so busy that I don't often get to spend quality time with much of family! But I am so glad I did!

Recently, I was able to purchase Echo Park's "For the Record" and "Springtime" I am loving Echo Park at the moment! They just don't disappoint!

Well, I wanted to create a card using Liz Chedester's sketch for Papercraft Star! The birdy is so cute that I just had to include him on my card! I love how I positioned him on my card!

Here is the sketch!
And here is my card!

Look at that little birdy! He is just too cute! I stuck him to some red cardstock to make him pop and then I did a little fussy cutting...

Guest Designer at Papercraft Star for Challenge #33

Happy Wednesday!
I am so excited to be joining the ladies at Papercraft Star again! I am so honored to be asked to come back this week! I really enjoyed working with the people there and hope one day to do it again!

For challenge #33, Liz Chidester has a super cute card sketch incoporating a tag! I just knew I wanted to use my Crate Paper "Recollection" kit! These vintage papers are fabulous! And the colors are a great transition into spring! I must tell you that my craft ribbon came from none other than TARGET! That's right! There gift wrapping section has excellent craft products and I came across this craft ribbon and they also had it in pink! Of course, I got both!

With no further delay, here is the sketch!

Here is my interpretation!

There is something about those papers that is so charming and almost country like... Ijust love it!

Patterned Paper: Crate Paper
Die Cut: Crate Paper
Cardstock: Bazzill

I distressed everything with my pink Heidi Swapp distresser and inked everything with my "Brown" Color Box ink!

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Enjoy,
