Sassy Lil' Sketches March 21st

Good Evening! Hope you are having a great week so far! Today, I made a pit stop at Archivers and I must say that I love all the 6x6 paper pads that companies are making! It makes it affordable to purchase "all" the patterned paper for cards and small paper craft projects! I was able to get a few today! And I can't wait to share some projects using them!

First up, is one of Bo Bunny's newest collections, Ad Lib... fun summer/spring colors.... Feminine and masculine at the same time! Love it!

Here is the sketch for the March 21st Sassy Lil' Card Sketches. Obviously, great for birthdays! And there are a few in April to create for!

It's a simple card, but I like the way it turned out!

Papercraft Star Challenge #38

Papercraft Star Challenge #38 is a great sketch by the wonderful Liz Chedester! I am super busy getting ready for this week but I wanted to post this layout!

Here is the sketch that I used:
I love it! Although I only used one horizontal photo from our Spring Break!

The photo hasn't been retouched... which will make the layout look better but I wanted to make sure I got my layout entered!

Here is a close up!

I will try to stop by and up date with the supplies that I used! But if you are an Echo Park fan, you know most of this is from their "For the Record" collection! Have a wonderful week!

Card Patterns and Kraft Journal

Good Morning,
Hope you week is going well. Mine is going fantastic actually. During my Spring Break, I submitted some work to a fabulous brick and mortar store near the Dallas/Ft. Worth area (The Crafty Scrapper) and while I wasn't chosen to be a regular designer, I was asked to be a guest designer! I am absolutely thrilled!

And to top it off, this is my last day to teach this week! I am heading out tomorrow morning for a sewing retreat with my mom, my twin sister Elizabeth and my younger sister Rebecca! I am so excited! We are heading towards Corpus Christi for some quality time together and a little sewing. You probably don't know this but before I was scrapbooking, I sewed... not a lot but I knew sewing basics and this weekend, I am going to work on a lap quilt! I can't wait!

On to my card, I am entering this card over at both Card Patterns and the Kraft Journal! I am using the sketch from Card Patterns and the theme for the Kraft Journal is "Oh baby, it's spring"! So, with that I have some fun spring paper and also a "baby" theme...

I just couldn't find any ribbon that I particularly liked and so I went with some white twine...

Materials Used:
Patterned Paper: Fancy Pants
Kraft Cardstock
Teal cardstock: Bazzill
Twine: American Crafts
Sentiment: American Crafts
Button: Personal Stash
P.S. I am also entering this at The Paper Variety's Tic Tac Toe challenge!

Get Sketchy #79

Get Sketchy has another very versatile sketch this week and I am really enjoying clean and simple cards. No fuss, easy to make and you can actually put them in the mail... How many times have you made a card and wondered what the postage would be!? lol! I have done it, I promise... But I just love the look that features great patterned paper and sentiment! Oh and of course, one or two small embellishments! :D

Here is the sketch and I wanted to create something that I could use on a whim! No specific sentiment, just very usable!

Here is my card!

Hope you enjoy!

Lucky Girl Card for Papercraft Star and Kraft Journal

Hope you are having a great Friday! This weekend is the end of my Spring Break... Bummer, I know!

I know that St. Patrick's Day was yesterday but I wanted to enter something for Papercraft Star and the Kraft Journal. So, today I was cleaning my craft area and went through some of my older paper that I have and noticed that I really don't have a lot of green paper, but I did manage to find a scrap already cut from my Cricut and a couple other Basic Grey green paper! So, all I had to do was figure out what I wanted to go with it... As you can see I added a bow and a sentiment geared towards the St. Patrick's Day theme... And I wanted to add some buttons or something else.. but no green buttons, geez...

Materials Used:
Thick Kraft cardstock from school
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey
Green Cardstock: Bazzill
Ribbon: American Crafts
Cricut Cartridges: Paisley, Storybook

Enjoy your evening!

Unity Challenge: Theme-Fashion/Sassy Lil' Card Sketches

I am just bustin' out several cards... After feeling like I was in a crafting rut (mainly because I submitted to a couple of blogs and never heard anything back... not really in the "mood" to craft but I am over it), I think I am in full force and ready to create! I just have to keep putting myself and projects out there... it's tough to be rejected but I just have to keep trying!

Hope you are having a wonderful day! It's absolutely beautiful here in the Lone Star state and I wanted share this card with you. I have seen examples of people who stamp on patterned paper and some how (I am guessing, because I didn't look up a tutorial) they cut out the stamped image and piece them together on their project. I wanted to try and see what it was all about!!!!

Let me tell you... it was time consuming! But a ton of fun! I really like the end product!

Here is the sketch that I used for my card...

Here is my card!

Let's just say, I love polka dots!

Papercraft Star and Creative Scrappers

This last week at Papercraft Star the theme is Spring! I must say that I absolutely love SPRING and the colors associated with Spring! The challenge was to use one or more of these colors in your project! I, of course, chose the purples and pinks!

And for the sketch that I used, it came from Creative Scrappers!

I decided to turn the sketch so the photos went up and down.

At the end of February, my husband and I went to a tasting with some friends, to help them decide on food and drinks for their wedding! We had such a good time hanging out and had fun at the photo booth that was set up there!

I included a little Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and of course, I love the purple flower ribbon! I was just waiting for the perfect project to use some of it! I also drew the stitches on the circle...

Patterned Paper/Stickers/Die Cut: Echo Park's Springtime
Border Punch: Fiskars
Cardstock: Bazzill
Polka dotted stamp: Hobby Lobby

New Blog Look and Card Patterns sketch featurning Pink Paislee's Soiree

Happy Saturday! And I gladly welcome Spring Break! It's been a hectic semester, but I am excited to say that when I return to school, we will have new computers and they will be hooked up to our new SMART boards! We are such a lucky district, in which voted on a new bond to retrofit some of the older campuses! I will actually be excited to return to school in 9 days!

I have started off my Spring Break with a little bit of craftyness! Yesterday, I updated the look of my blog and brought in some super fun yellows and greys, let me know what you think! And this morning, I created a card for someone's birthday using Pink Paislee's new Soiree collection! Absolutely fabulous line of products!

I used Card Pattern's Sketch 106!

Great sketch, love the diagonal divide!

Materials Used:
Cardstock: Bazzill

Ribbon: I think it is Maya Road... but I am not 100% sure...

Papercraft Star Challenge #35 and Cardablilties Sketch #26

Happy Friday to you all!

Today, I took off from work for some much needed R&R! It has been nice, I finished a card, sent in a Design Team application, and a few other things... Hope you have a joyful weekend. We are attending a wedding of some of our closer friends and we are so glad to see them start their new lives together.

I wanted to play along at Papercraft Star mainly cause I really like the theme and the American Crafts products have some super cute stickers with song titles from movies! I knew I had to use of them! And I chose The Wizard of Oz's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Growing up I absolutely LOVED watching anything with Judy Garland in it. I just love musicals in general! :D

Here is my card!

I thought it would be fun to photograph it in it's "natural" environment, my scrapping table! lol!

I also used a sketch from Cardabilities for this card! Here is the sketch.
As Jan suggested in her comment, I linked my project also at The Kraft Journal "Cute as a Button" challenge! Thanks Jan!

Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Patterned Paper/Stickers/Ribbon/Twine: American Crafts
