Card Patterns Sketch #120

Good Evening,
Hope things are good where ever you are! Things are going good, summer is going fabulous, and I am trying to scrap away the days! At least something, each day or definitely every other day! I created a card using Card Patterns sketch #120. I wanted to do something a little different... I could quite figure out how I wanted to photograph it, but I tried my best.

Here is the sketch!
I sort of did a matchbook thing... but upside down. I cut out the floral piece using "Straight From the Nest" just to add an extra feminine touch. I found this "Authentique" paper at Archivers and I just had to get it... I have recently begun to hoard 6x6 mini paper pads... I have started quite the collection! he he! The sentiment on the front is a Savvy Stamp and the sentiment on the inside is Unity. Hope you have a fabulous day!

Materials Used:
Patterned Paper: Authentique
Carstock: Bazzill
Ribbon: Michaels
Border Punch: Fiskars

Happy Friday to you! We made it to another weekend! Time to relax.

I want to welcome any new people stopping in from Unity's Friends w/Flair, and I wanted to introduce you to Papercraft Star! I just love this challenge blog! They offer great prizes, participants and followers vote on the submitted projects, and one of my favorite things about the blog is that you get the challenges ahead of time! I just think that is fabulous! So, stop by and follow and check out this week's challenge and the upcoming challenges! I am sure you won't be disappointed!

This week, the challenge is to use the word star and come up with an element for your project for each of the letters in the word star! This could be tricky, but if you are uber creative you won't have a problem!

I have been able to knock out a few cards this week and I would like to share one with you. This one is using a sketch from CPS or Card Positioning Systems, they have great basic sketches that can be interpreted to your liking!

Here is the sketch!

And here is the card!

Paper Bag Album featuring My Mind's Eye and mostly Unity Stamps!

I am not one who usually stamps while creating layouts, so... I decided to start small and try my best to incorporate stamps in my first ever paper bag album! I had so much fun making this little album! It was a great project for the Memorial Day weekend.

I am just going to share these projects through my pictures. Take a look, if you like! :D

I would suggest working on one. I used a 6x6 paper pad which is the perfect size and amount of paper to create one of these!

Enjoy!

Here is the cover. It is embossed with a Unity "Could I Be Any Cuter" stamp. I used several stamps from that kit, as you will see! he he!

Here is the inside. For the page on the left, I used Unity's "Could I Be Any Cuter" kit, and the page on the right I used American Crafts and Dear Lizzy stamp set and embossed the banner using American Crafts embossing powder.

For these two pages, I was in the album where the bottom of the paper bag was showing, so I scrored the paper and created a "dual" page. You can see the inside portion just below this picture. For the page on the left, I used Unity's "Shine On" Collection. And for the page on the right, I used American Crafts "Sentiments" stamp collection, and repeated the image several times to make it look like a "field" of flowers, and I fussy cut that grass! That was a chore! And then you can see inside of the page on the left!

For the page on the left, I did not stamp any images, but I made the little ribbon flower with Glue Dots, I love Glue Dots! For the page on the left, I stamped and paper pieced Unity's "Could I Be Any Cuter" kit, again... This kit is perfect for spring or summer collections!

For this double page layout, I stamped the left side using Unity's "Stitched Greetings" and paper pieced using some patterned paper. For the right side, I stamped and paper pieced more "CIBAC" stamps, and I drew the path of the butterfly!
For this last page, I didn't stamp, but I wanted to use scraps of patterned paper and cardstock, and some cute twine!!

I hope to get pictures in this paper bag album soon! Hope you enjoyed!
Have a wonderful day!

Unity's Friends w/Flair featuring "Hugs and Kitties"

Happy Friday to you! Hope you have a wonderful day and weekend! I am glad it is friday and time to relax with friends and family! If you know me, you know that we have two little kitties... well, they are grown... lol! One is "grown" more than the other, lol! They always do some of the sweetest and sometimes strangest things! I was vacuuming yesterday, which is rare, and Tiger Lily flipped out. She went to hide on the chairs at the dinning room table and sort of fell asleep there. So, I knew I had to grab my camera! And here is her sweet self just resting...
Very innocent, but if you know Tiger, she far from it! :D
Last week, Unity had that fabulous sale and I got my stamps in the mail this week! I was so excited to get an adorable cat collection at a fantastic price!

Here is the card that I made with the "Hugs and Kitties" kit!

Here is a close up of that cute lil' kitty!
Materials Used:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Paper: Echo Park
Ink: Tim Holtz "Distress Ink"

New Layouts

I sent a few of these layouts to be published, but I never heard anything... Which I don't know if they got lost in cyberspace or what... But I wanted to share them with you. Hope you are having a great day!

I used a Page Maps sketch for this one!

I used a Creative Scrappers sketch for this layout.

Both layouts feature Echo Park products!

The Crafty Scrapper Guest Designer Project

I recently had the opportunity to play with some fabulous JilliBean Soup products and several other misc brand products for The Crafty Scrapper ! It was such a fun task and the paper was great for celebrating birthdays. Over the past year, I have been working on my husband's childhood scrapbook and this gave me the opportunity to scrap one of his birthdays. Can you figure out which one? he he!

Here is a close up of the Maya Road owl that I embellished!

I think he is just too cute!

Here is a card and tag that I created with the left overs from the layouts!

Here is the second layout that I created! I just love the little owls! The balloon is a Maya Road chipboard piece and it was so easy to embellish!
Materials Used:
Patterned Paper: JilliBean Soup, Echo Park (Yellow Stripes)
Cardstock: Bazzill
Chipboard Accessories: Maya Road
There were several other misc. brands that were used... And I will have check on what is what, but if you are curious let me know! I would be glad to point you in the right direction! Have a wonderful day!

Enjoy!

Papercraft Star Challenge #48 and Friends w/Flair

Papercraft Star's challenge for this week is a photo inspiration with either a wedding or masculine themed project. I have a friend from school getting married next weekend and I thought this would be a great opportunity to create a card for them.

Here is the photo that you are to use for inspiration!

Here is my card that I created. I used one of the new card maps for the month of June. Check out Page Maps for all their new sketches!

This card was so easy, and I think it turned out very classy! I embossed the sentiment and added a few pearls to incorporate some circles like the lanterns from the photo!

Materials:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye
Pearls: Kaisercraft
Ink: VersaMark
Green lace ribbon/Embossing powder: American Crafts
Sentiment: Unity

Enjoy and Happy Friday!

Fruit Themed Unity Challenge

Over at the Unity challenge, the theme is fruit! I only have one Unity stamp with fruit and it's three adorable apples! So, I made a card for another teacher at work to thank her for all the hard work she does!

I didn't base it off a sketch, but I was able to use some Echo Park "Little Boy" collection. It's perfect for school projects also with the great primary colors! And I used my EK Success notebook paper punch! It's a simple card... Nothing fancy about it, but those little apples were calling my name! :D

Have a wonderful Wednesday! I only have two more days with my students and then SUMMER!
Enjoy,
Catherine
