Happy Friday to you! We made it to another weekend! Time to relax.

I want to welcome any new people stopping in from Unity's Friends w/Flair, and I wanted to introduce you to Papercraft Star! I just love this challenge blog! They offer great prizes, participants and followers vote on the submitted projects, and one of my favorite things about the blog is that you get the challenges ahead of time! I just think that is fabulous! So, stop by and follow and check out this week's challenge and the upcoming challenges! I am sure you won't be disappointed!

This week, the challenge is to use the word star and come up with an element for your project for each of the letters in the word star! This could be tricky, but if you are uber creative you won't have a problem!

This week Papercraft Star has a card sketch for their challenge! And love a good sketch if I do say so myself! And The Kraft Journal's theme is "It's a Guy Thing"and my dad loves to listen to music, so this is a perfect Father's Day card...  This sketch and theme are fun and I have been playing with my Cricut a bit more than usual and I found a fun iPod image to cut out!

Check out the sketch! I am a goober, and didn't notice the middle panel is smaller than the other two... Silly me!

Papercraft Star Challenge #48 and Friends w/Flair

Papercraft Star's challenge for this week is a photo inspiration with either a wedding or masculine themed project. I have a friend from school getting married next weekend and I thought this would be a great opportunity to create a card for them.

Here is the photo that you are to use for inspiration!

Here is my card that I created. I used one of the new card maps for the month of June. Check out Page Maps for all their new sketches!

This card was so easy, and I think it turned out very classy! I embossed the sentiment and added a few pearls to incorporate some circles like the lanterns from the photo!

Materials:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye
Pearls: Kaisercraft
Ink: VersaMark
Green lace ribbon/Embossing powder: American Crafts
Sentiment: Unity

Enjoy and Happy Friday!

Papercraft Star Challenge #38

Papercraft Star Challenge #38 is a great sketch by the wonderful Liz Chedester! I am super busy getting ready for this week but I wanted to post this layout!

Here is the sketch that I used:
I love it! Although I only used one horizontal photo from our Spring Break!

The photo hasn't been retouched... which will make the layout look better but I wanted to make sure I got my layout entered!

Here is a close up!

I will try to stop by and up date with the supplies that I used! But if you are an Echo Park fan, you know most of this is from their "For the Record" collection! Have a wonderful week!

Lucky Girl Card for Papercraft Star and Kraft Journal

Hope you are having a great Friday! This weekend is the end of my Spring Break... Bummer, I know!

I know that St. Patrick's Day was yesterday but I wanted to enter something for Papercraft Star and the Kraft Journal. So, today I was cleaning my craft area and went through some of my older paper that I have and noticed that I really don't have a lot of green paper, but I did manage to find a scrap already cut from my Cricut and a couple other Basic Grey green paper! So, all I had to do was figure out what I wanted to go with it... As you can see I added a bow and a sentiment geared towards the St. Patrick's Day theme... And I wanted to add some buttons or something else.. but no green buttons, geez...

Materials Used:
Thick Kraft cardstock from school
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey
Green Cardstock: Bazzill
Ribbon: American Crafts
Cricut Cartridges: Paisley, Storybook

Enjoy your evening!

Papercraft Star and Creative Scrappers

This last week at Papercraft Star the theme is Spring! I must say that I absolutely love SPRING and the colors associated with Spring! The challenge was to use one or more of these colors in your project! I, of course, chose the purples and pinks!

And for the sketch that I used, it came from Creative Scrappers!

I decided to turn the sketch so the photos went up and down.

At the end of February, my husband and I went to a tasting with some friends, to help them decide on food and drinks for their wedding! We had such a good time hanging out and had fun at the photo booth that was set up there!

I included a little Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and of course, I love the purple flower ribbon! I was just waiting for the perfect project to use some of it! I also drew the stitches on the circle...

Materials Used:
Patterned Paper/Stickers/Die Cut: Echo Park's Springtime
Border Punch: Fiskars
Cardstock: Bazzill
Polka dotted stamp: Hobby Lobby
Cricut: Simply Sweet
Button: personal stash
Thread: We R Memory Keepers
Green and Pink Ink: Color Box

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Papercraft Star Challenge #35 and Cardablilties Sketch #26

Happy Friday to you all!

Today, I took off from work for some much needed R&R! It has been nice, I finished a card, sent in a Design Team application, and a few other things... Hope you have a joyful weekend. We are attending a wedding of some of our closer friends and we are so glad to see them start their new lives together.

I wanted to play along at Papercraft Star mainly cause I really like the theme and the American Crafts products have some super cute stickers with song titles from movies! I knew I had to use of them! And I chose The Wizard of Oz's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Growing up I absolutely LOVED watching anything with Judy Garland in it. I just love musicals in general! :D

Here is my card!

I thought it would be fun to photograph it in it's "natural" environment, my scrapping table! lol!

I also used a sketch from Cardabilities for this card! Here is the sketch.
As Jan suggested in her comment, I linked my project also at The Kraft Journal "Cute as a Button" challenge! Thanks Jan!

Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Materials Used:
Patterned Paper/Stickers/Ribbon/Twine: American Crafts
Flower Border Punch: Martha Stewart
Cardstock: Bazzill

Papercraft Star Challenge #34

Good Evening! I hope you are having a crafty weekend! I am just getting started! Today, I was able to spend some quality time with my mom! We went shopping and ate at the Cheesecake Factory! Can you say yum!!!!? It was great! We are so busy that I don't often get to spend quality time with much of family! But I am so glad I did!

Recently, I was able to purchase Echo Park's "For the Record" and "Springtime" I am loving Echo Park at the moment! They just don't disappoint!

Well, I wanted to create a card using Liz Chedester's sketch for Papercraft Star! The birdy is so cute that I just had to include him on my card! I love how I positioned him on my card!

Here is the sketch!
And here is my card!

Look at that little birdy! He is just too cute! I stuck him to some red cardstock to make him pop and then I did a little fussy cutting...

Materials Used:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Paper: Echo Park
All Stickers: Echo Park

Ink: Color Box "Charcoal"

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy!

Papercraft Star Challenge #23

Hey there,
It's Thursday! Yay! And another challenge is happening at Papercraft Star! Have you submitted your project for this challenge? It's a great challenge!

Green Holidays

  • Create an altered holiday gift, card or scrapbook layout using recycled or repurposed items you already have on hand.

I was a little reluctant mainly because I wasn't sure what I could recycle, but today I received these cheap mini popcorn bucket as a Secret Santa gift at school, and I had no idea what I was going to do with them. But then, I had a revelation! Seriously! I would use them for a gift "Box/Bag"!

I was so excited about how it turned out that I had to post even if I didn't have the best lighting! If I have time later, maybe I can post a better picture!

Don't worry, I put patterened paper on all four sides! Aren't these snowmen adorable!? This is more of my Echo Park paper that I absolutely love, using some ribbon from good ol' michael's and Hobby Lobby.
I also used my Martha Stewart scoring board to make my pinwheel like what Liz showed us in the tutorial today! They are so much fun. Try a border punch and see who you like it! :D

Thanks for stopping by!

Over at Papercraft Star, we are on Challenge #9! And we are using a really beautiful photo for our inspiration. I used the colors and squares as the main inspiration in the card that I created using Bo Bunny's Mama-Razzi collection!  The borders are the pre punched borders from Bazzill! Those are my fav when you are short on time!!  Here is the photo and here is my card! Hope to see you join us on this week's challenge!

So Sophie! My Mind's Eye Newest Paper Collection! (plus cute Thank You card)

Besides purchasing one of the newest My Mind's Eye-So Sophie collections for Challenge #3 at Papercraft Star... I also received my newest Scrapbooks, Etc magazine in the mail yesterday! As my husband and I were walking to our mailbox... I told him that my day would be made if I got S.E. or a new Self magazine and what do you know... Scrapbooks, Etc was there!!! As I was flipping through my new magazine, I found a great sketch that I just had to complete then and there! :D I tried to look on their website for the sketch but I can't find it... Just a little bit about my style, I try to fill in most of the page with pictures/embellishments, but this page left a lot of "white space" as other scrappers call it, so I thought this would be the perfect chance to try my skills at leaving "white space"... I had the perfect pictures in mind when I saw this sketch. Here is how it turned out! I think these colors are great for summer! Hope you enjoy!

I still have several scraps left over from this project and Challenge #3... So, I wanted to create a "Thinking of You" card... using a sketch from Card Patterns Blog... check out there website for some excellent sketches and prize opportunities, too...

And for the last thing on this post... I really cute Thank You card! The patterned paper is K&C Company, the yellow card stock is Core'dinations and the Pink is Bazzill. I used my Sizzix Texture Boutique to emboss, but the folder I used is Cuttlebug... The yellow ribbon came from the "bargain area" at Archivers... I honestly don't remember the brand of the "Thank you" stamp that I used... Oh and last but not least, I cut out a flower from the PP and inked it as well as pop dotted the back to give it dimension, and a yellow Kaisercraft pearl accent!
